FALL INTO PLACE
My favorite time of the year is here, Autumn! I love the weather, the leaves changing, and the fact that the fish have started being active again. God blessed our Summer. Unlike school ministries we are active year round. Many of our volunteers take vacation to be with family, which is a great thing! Even so, we were still able to be in three facilities every week seeing about 100 youth. We were also able to bring several new servants on board over the summer. Presently, we have 46 active servants on the roster with several more in the processing stage. Praise God! We had our golf tournament in August and had a great turnout, with 76 golfers. This was a significant increase over last year, with around 20 first-time participants. The weather was perfect and everyone had fun on the course. Pictures from the day will be up on the website this coming week! I personally spent some time in the mountains with my brothers in Christ on a retreat. That too was a blessing. Now that Fall is here, we start ramping up for the busy end of year. There are always a lot of administrative tasks to do, such as taxes, annual training requirements, and YFC USA essentials etc.. We start preparing for our End of Year Match, Christmas in the facilities, and our servant's holiday party. After months of fulfilling prerequisites, we anticipate starting to again minister in Southern Peaks treatment facility in the next few weeks. We will be able to serve another 45 youth that are in a very dark place. I continue researching and learning what it will take to start ministry in schools. I am praying about if we should go into middle schools, high schools, or alternative schools and in which districts. As recent violent events in our schools illustrate, there is a greater need than ever to help our youth. Wherever and whenever the Lord leads us to start, I know that it's going to take a lot of prayer, work, time and funding to make it happen. God is faithful! You play a vital role in the Lord’s work.
