God has chosen to set us in time. We measure it in seconds, minutes, hours, and yes years. Within time we experience days, months, and seasons. We experience growth and celebrate birthdays. We remember the past and make plans for the future. We experience the joy of new birth and the pain of losing a loved one, wishing we had more time. We can find ourselves trying to meet deadlines or just killing time waiting in a line. Time stops for no one. When we are in pain it feels like time is a curse. When we are happy it is a blessing. Some moments we want to last, and others can’t get over fast enough.
God has us in time for a reason. It is a blessing. If not for sin, we would have a lot more of it. He has given us purpose that should fill our time and make it a blessing. Many of us have made plans and New Year’s resolutions for 2021. Do they include God’s purpose for you? As you get this you will have used about 288 hours of the 8760 given us this year. I want my time to bring glory to God. Deb, our office manager, has spent four years serving the Lord through SOCOYFC. She has been a blessing to me, the youth, volunteers, and the Lord. She has been called to work for the Lord elsewhere. She will be missed. Please keep her in prayer and pray for the individual the Lord is calling to take her place. Ministry is opening up for us. We are doing ZOOM calls with youth in the facilities. We have also received calls to work with youth in the home. The Lord is filling our time with ministry. Please pray that our volunteers will be able to go back in facilities soon. We have just turned the page on the calendar. What will you do with the time God has given you? I pray your 2021 is filled with the Lord’s Blessings. Andrew LaValley
