John 10:10“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

The word I would use to describe April, is recovery.  One of the dictionary definitions for recovery is: restoration or return to any former or better state or condition.  My wife was recently ill for several weeks and went through a long recovery.  Praise God she has been restored to her former condition.

I have been out soliciting businesses for this years’ golf tournament.  I got to see the climate businesses are in and witness their different phases of recovery.  For many, they have a long way to go before they are rebuilt to their previous state.

Mankind has been in a state of recovery since the fall in the garden.  I should not be surprised that this is a long process.  It means that you must follow recommended process, procedures or for my wife, doctor’s orders.  There are problems with mankind’s restoration to the condition that he was meant to be in.  First, many fail to realize that they are in a bad condition.  They do not recognize they should have and need a relationship with their creator. They are unaware of the fact that the way has already been made for them to do so.  Others feel that they are OK and restitution is not necessary.  They like their life the way it is.  Some simply do not want to be told what they should do.  They do not want to follow the doctor’s (God’s) orders.

Last week we had a couple of ladies put their hands to the plow and go in a facility.  They met with three young ladies and three young men whom I am sure have many of the conditions listed above.  Sometimes the beginning of recovery simply starts with “Hi, what is your name?”  Southern Colorado Youth for Christ is in the recovery business.

I know, being in a state of recovery is not easy, but the more my relationship with the Lord is restored, the fuller and better my life is. Many of us get to a point of feeling good about knowing God, yet never truly receive full restoration.

How is your recovery with the Lord going?

Blessings,
