This weekend I attended a men’s revival with 29 other men who were ready to worship, be equipped, and be encouraged. I know I was blessed and encouraged. I got to meet new brothers. I am sure God used me to encourage others. We all needed what God had for us.
I miss going into facilities and working with youth. I also miss seeing God use our volunteers every week to build relationships with youth. It takes a special calling for someone to go into a facility and work with troubled youth. We have 28 very special volunteers just waiting to be used. Tonight, I am introducing a volunteer to a teen age boy to be his coach/mentor. Two weeks ago, I did the same thing with a teen age girl. Both youths were brought to us by an outside organization that works with DHS. Praise God! These teens are struggling at home and two volunteers are answering the call to be used by God in a new environment. Are you missing something in your life? Maybe your church hasn’t opened. Maybe you have not been able to travel to see family, your church groups are meeting on Zoom, and you are missing relationships. Maybe your relationship with the Lord is not what it used to be because of these issues. You were used to doing the Lord’s work or being encouraged in a certain way and now you don’t have that. Be encouraged - God is still working! He doesn’t want you to wait until things get better to start moving again. He has different ways for you to do His work and different ways to encourage you and build you up. First, tell the Lord you are ready for change. You have waited long enough for things to go back to the way they were, and it is time to be shown a new way. Watch what God will do. There could be a knock on the door from your new neighbor, you suddenly find yourself having to take care of a grandchild, or you get a call from an old friend you haven’t heard from in years. God is still working and doing beautiful things. I pray you are ready and willing to be part of it. The world will always be in turmoil until His return, and God wants you to be His body now. Will you answer His call? Break out the light from under the basket! Be blessed!! Andrew LaValley
