with our kids in the form of YFC Volunteers! This morning, Andy and I went to court!
Andy and I went to the El Paso County Court House to be an encouragement and support to the young juvenile offenders we are coaching! As you have heard me say before, KIDS ARE IN CRISES with so many in major trouble; the kind that controls their life forever! Because many of the teenagers we and our 40+ volunteers work with are deeply hurting and scared while fighting the realities of abandonment, anytime one of them asks us to go to court with them…we make every effort to be there! In all of my years in working with troubled youth, I have never known anyone who has believed Psalm 91 as meant for them the first time I had them read it…never. Only after a loving and caring adult commits to showing up in their lives in a meaningful and rememberable way do they come to believe they can take God at his Word! Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust him. Psalm 91:1-2 So, how did “court” go today for these young men? More delays because of additional charges being filed against them. But, God showed up through us! And that matters! Next Tuesday night when we come to their facility to have Bible study and some one-on-one coaching time, they know we were there for them. And, prayerfully, it was enough for them to come to believe other “unbelievable” promises God has made to them. Thank you for believing in Jesus and standing with us for those who are hurting and abandoned. For all the staff and volunteers, Craig and Andy
