Jesus Makes All Things Better Than Normal

I cannot believe it is June.  Summer is here!  Where is the time going?  One thing I have heard a lot of over the past two months is “I can’t wait till things get back to normal”.  I was blessed to go RVing with a friend for a few days and I found myself saying it was sure good to feel a sense of normal.  I started thinking, what is “normal”?
Websters definition of normal and normalcy are:
Normal: conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural. serving to establish a standard.
Normalcy: the quality or condition of being normal, as the general economic, political, and social conditions of a nation; normality.
These definitions made me realize I really do not want to go back to normal.  I want change in my life. The things we are going through are normal for a fallen world.  The standards of the world are not the ones I want to conform to. I want to be conformed to the Kingdom principles.
John 18:36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world”.
The volunteers and I do not want normal for the kids the Lord has put in our lives.  We want them to know a completely different life. A life that is full of love, peace, hope, and grace.  One that has a relationship with our Lord.  We are doing whatever we can to get that message to them and show them that they do not have to follow the norms of the world.
Thanks to the generosity of our partners we have been able to continue with the Lord’s work.  We are talking to kids on the phone, delivering backpacks to youth getting out of facilities, and doing prayer walks at the facilities.  All of our 35 volunteers are doing well and wanting to get back in the facilities.
We would love to thank our monthly donors.  They have been a great foundation through the tough last few months.  Ministry only happens with the support of the body of Christ.  With the economic downturn we need monthly donors more than ever. If you would like to be a monthly donor simply go to our web site to set it up.
We pray that you have a blessed summer.
Blessings,
