Our at-risk youth learn practical life and job skills as they finish their training with the Security Fire Department. As our team of young men finish their training with the Security Fire Department, they have been learning about teamwork and communication. Two practical life skills they will need when they transition back into our community after incarceration. This week they finished training with a smoke house exercise. They put on an air pack and in teams of three were put in a room filled with thick fog. They had to find possible victims. They learned quickly that they had to stay in constant communication and trust in each other to be able to get in and back out with success. We talked about how they must have God on their team, be in constant communication with Him, and trust Him with their lives as they go forward in their transition process. They had an amazing experience. Thank you! We couldn't provide these programs without our awesome community members and the prayers and support of friends like you. We are grateful to be able to provide this awesome opportunity to these young men. If you would like to see any of our other community involvement opportunities, would like to volunteer as a coach/mentor for one of our kids, or have an ideas of how you might want to be a community partner, please contact us at : www.socoyfc.org. Many blessings, Andy LaValley Ministry Director Southern Colorado Youth for Christ
