Volunteer Application

Picture

We are excited that you want to work directly with troubled youth!

Below are descriptions for each of the 5 STEPS that must be completed prior to beginning your ministry at SOCO YFC.

PLEASE READ OVER EACH OF THESE STEPS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU BEGIN and do not hesitate to contact us with any questions that you may have.

PLEASE NOTE that we are asking for a minimum 1-year commitment due to the nature of our ministry and the need for our youth to have consistency. However, if after 3 months of ministry you feel that you are not suited or called to continue you will be released from this commitment.  Also please note that periodic training through SOCO YFC and other ministries will be made available to volunteers throughout the year. Volunteers are asked to attend a minimum of  six training sessions per year. By agreeing to become a volunteer you are also agreeing to make a good faith effort to fulfill the training minimum attendance in any given year.
Thank you for your determination and your desire to serve God with us.

We will ask for a SSN# and Drivers License# in order to do your background check. YFC's 3rd party company will process your background check and you will be given full disclosure and your rights regarding the information that is disclosed to us. Your information will always be held secure by us and will never be given to anyone else for any use other than to conduct this background check.
  • If your volunteer position is INSIDE of facilities: We will give/send you a background form after you have made a commitment to be a volunteer. The filled out form will be sent to the facility in which you will be volunteering and they will process your background check Your information will always be held secure by the facility/us and will never be given to anyone else for any use other than to conduct this background check.

Step 3:

Fingerprints and Drug Testing
If you will be volunteering INSIDE of a facility, some facilities require fingerprints and drug testing. If this is the case for the facility in which you will be serving, after your background check has been approved, the facility will contact you via email to set up an appointment for fingerprints and drug testing. Once all appointments are completed, it will take up to 10 days to gets your results back.
