Here we are almost halfway through February. The transition from 2023 to 2024 was great. In December we had Christmas parties for over 150 young people in four facilities. We had a volunteer appreciation/holiday party. Wonderful fellowship was had by all. I took some time off that went by in a flash. We met our end of year match goal of $20K totaling over $40K for the match.
January was another blessed month. We had a dance program, Open Sky Colorado, go into Spring Creek. The program is amazing and such a blessing. The Lord brought several potential new volunteers. Our volunteer training had 19 servants present and we prayed in the New Year.
We set records for the number of servants that went into Spring Creek and Zebulon Pike. We have begun processing six servants to go into Southern Peaks in Canon City, but we still have a lot of work to get the team up and running in the facility. I attended a Youth For Christ National Leadership Conference. It is a great experience to be with nearly 800 others that have the same heart for youth. My board of directors met and are excited for the future.
As you can see, the last two months have been filled with the Lord’s blessings in all areas of the ministry. We have a lot of wonderful things coming in the upcoming months that we need prayer for. The population of youth in the facility in Pueblo has grown and we need to increase the Pueblo team by as many as six people.
I am praying about expanding the ministry into schools. This will require new staff and funding to support this new direction God is calling us to. I know that I have mentioned these things before. If the Lord repeats things in His Word, to make sure we not only read, but understand that it is important, I feel that I too should continue to let you know what the Lord has done and is doing.
Since this month we celebrate love, I will end with this;
"For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:14-19
